White Coat Ceremony

We are now home, with my crisp short white coat. It still doesn’t quite feel real yet. When my family and I split up at the Marriott Downtown, I was still scared to death that they wouldn’t have my name on the list, that someone would finally say I’d been punk’d or something. But no, my name was on the list & in the program, and my name badge says “Medical Student.”

Tomorrow begins orientation, a 10-hour day of lectures, tours, and introductions before a dinner at the Dean’s house. Until then, I’m going to savor this beautiful, autumn-like day and read Game of Thrones. Now the fun begins! (Remind me of that in a few weeks when I’m exhausted & wondering what I’ve gotten myself into.)
